The Kabul restaurant, located in F-7 markaz, is an Islamabad
landmark. In the warm summer evenings, tables spread out onto the pavements and
families sit outside talking and eating. The reason to come here is the
excellent food-watch it being made over the grill. We ordered the kebabs and
then the meat skewers- they were seared well, tasty and succulent and with rice
and naan- it was all just excellent. Mouthwatering food cooked to perfection in
true Afghani style.
Although the food is not hot with chillies, it is still very flavorsome with spices. However, if you like your food that makes your mouth feeling like a volatile volcano, hit chilly sauces can provided. Kabul Restaurant’s best dishes are beef tikka, mutton tikka, Afghani pulao (meat dressing with dry fruit and vegetable toppings) Manto dish (meat dumplings in sour cream) with Afghani naan. All three of these dishes are readily available, are low-cost (Rs 500), and a complete meal.
Overall a good restaurant that lives up to its name. This is excellent value for money. Go enjoy, trust the food and the people.
