Islamabad Eat 2019!

           Islamabad Eat 2019

A three day fun filled food festival took place in F-9 Park, Islamabad, on the 15th, 16th, and 17th of November 2019. With an entry ticket of 300 PKR, Islamabad Eat was a great success just like last year and the year before. The event was a food heaven for foodies, offering them a wide range of food stalls of well-established food chains as well as home-based chefs and bakers who offered a vast variety of scrumptious food items.

The event also featured a number of activities for children and adults. Abdullah Qureshi, the upcoming singer from Islamabad, stole the show by his outstanding performance. A lot of other emerging underground music bands put up a great show as well which gave them a lot of exposure in front of such an enthusiastic crowd.
The event itself was managed really well. Seating arrangements were made to accommodate families and children so that they could enjoy the event with ease and comfort. Safety measures were taken in order to avoid any mishaps. Cleanliness was not comprised on at all as the management was vigilant to clear any trash that was being disposed off by the attendees in order to keep the area clean so hats off to them!

Coming to the food stalls, there were a variety of cuisines being offered. From Desi to Chinese to Thai, Pan Asian, Mexican, Italian and what not. You name it and it was there. Upon observing, it was pretty much clear that the top trending eatery was ‘Abid Chatkhara.’ Their tawa chicken was a massive success last year and again this year. The spices, the flavors, the presentation, everything was absolutely delicious. No wonder there was a wait of 30-40 minutes with a never ending queue.

As we all know by now, absolutely no food festival is complete without some BBQ, puri, raita and chaii. And one eatery that has successfully maintained its quality in terms of taste and hygiene is none other than ‘Rewayat’ restaurant, that offered the most delicious Malai boti and Reshmi kababs served with hot puri to satisfy our cravings and hunger pans. Always a delight. If you’re a fish lover then Mindanos was the place to go to. Their fish and chips were absolutely mouthwatering and made us crave for one plate after another. Awesamosas, offered some, well, Awesamosas. (Pun intended) Their nutella and pizza samosa was something that was very unique but great in flavor. These would definitely pass as a quick snack. Moreover, Shakespear’s lounge, Wingitt, Pop nosh, Funky pop, Jessie’s and Capital Delights were all a hit.

All in all, it wasn’t just an event, it was a whole new experience.
It takes an arm and a leg to pull off such an event and The CKO event architecture team should be applaud for organizing such a successful event on a huge scale while drawing an enormous crowd. We already can’t wait for the next Eat festival!
